Before

Information gathering & Analysis

Proper emergency response starts with adequate preparation, consisting of information gathering and analysis. NoKeos provides the method and tools to accomplish this in a structured way.

A first step in the process is the identification of credible incidents.

The selected incidents are in turn broken down into:

  • incident levels according to the severity
  • the required human, technical and financial resources to respond to the incident at each defined level
  • the Parameters that drive the incident like for example Time, the Number of Casualties or Wind speed
  • the team dependant actions following each parameter change are calculated or estimated via expert software models.

Concurrently, the response of intervention teams and occupant evacuation are determined with the element TIME being the common denominator.

Based upon the outcome of the simulations, event trees are developed that clearly display actions and strategies for varying conditions.

Knowledge integration

The NoKeos Developer is an intuitive graphical user-interface enabling seamless integration and maintenance of the captured and analysed data.

It is composed of a set of maintenance tools and a procedure designer;

The maintenance tools allow for entering and maintaining all vital information, like for example :

  • incidents scenarios and their respective statuses
  • intervention teams including team members and statuses
  • team related parameters/questions and tasks
  • critical information belonging to a specific incident or team
  • layered graphical information

With the procedure designer, which is the heart of the NoKeos Developer, interactive emergency procedures are created by coupling data, parameters, resources and tasks.

Training & Improvement

A crucial phase of any preparation is repeated training.

By simulating a disaster and using NoKeos to support the various response teams, better insight is gained into the effectiveness and completeness of the procedures put in place. The response loggings of NoKeos can hereby serve as a basis for further optimisation of the integrated emergency response scenarios.
